FIRST AID and CPR Classes

American Heart Association Cards are valid for 2 years.  Effective April 1, 2011, we will begin using the 2010 American Heart Association New Guidelines.  Previously learned skills are still acceptable to use.

 

Class Schedules

(Must be Pre-registered by providing a Name and Phone Number by calling 601-749-4939)

Everyday:  Monday through Sunday

·         Individual Classes or Groups of up to 6 people (for one instructor).

·         Full classroom course is usually scheduled on Saturday and Sunday, but may be available throughout the week. (plan on 2.5 hours per class).

·         On-line skills completion class is available daily (takes about 20 minutes).

·         Cards are issued at the completion of the class.

BLS Healthcare Provider (Classroom)

The BLS Healthcare Provider Course teaches CPR skills; use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO).  For healthcare professionals.  Written and Skills Exam: Required for completion card

BLS HCP Online (www.onlineaha.org)

Same as above, but the online course is Part 1 and upon completion you can print the Certificate needed for Part 2; the appropriate hands-on practice and skills session (at Moore Chiropractic Clinic), the online course will meet all the requirements for the Healthcare Provider Course. Cards will be issued to participants who successfully complete both portions of the course.

Price: $17.50 (Part 1) plus $30.00 (Part 2)

 

Heartsaver First Aid Only (Classroom)

The Heartsaver First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes General Principles, Medical Emergencies, and Injury Emergencies. Optional topic includes Environmental Emergencies.  Skills Demonstration: Required for completion card

1. From Picayune - Just 2 miles past McDonalds and Sonic (Hwy 43) or 1 mile North of Hide Away Lake on the right hand side).

2. From Carriere – Close to Ozona, one mile past the bridge and skating rink on the left hand side.

3. From Interstate 59 take Exit 6 and head towards Picayune on Hwy 43 (towards Winn Dixie and Chevron).  Turn right at Hwy 11 (McDonalds, Sonic, Hancock Bank, Claiborne Hill).  Go exactly 2 miles and Moore Chiropractic will be on the right hand side (look for the lighted sign).
